3. Photo Use and Your Choice
Before uploading a photograph through our designated project photo submission page, you may be asked to review a Photo Submission Agreement.
The agreement explains the conditions applicable to the submission and how ECBVerdyol may handle the photograph.
The submission process also provides an optional refusal if you do not want ECBVerdyol to use your submitted photograph for marketing or promotional purposes.
Selecting this refusal does not prevent you from submitting a photograph or participating in an applicable promotion.

However, withdrawal may not allow us to recall or remove materials that were already printed, distributed, published, archived, incorporated into previously released materials, or lawfully provided to third parties before the withdrawal request.
4. Responsibility for Submitted Photographs
By submitting a photograph, you confirm that you have the right to submit it.
You are responsible for ensuring that you have obtained permissions that are reasonably required from persons appearing in the photograph and, where applicable, property owners, customers, project managers, employers, or other relevant parties.
If a minor appears in a submitted photograph, the person submitting the photograph is responsible for obtaining any required permission from the minor’s parent or legal guardian.
Please do not submit photographs that you are not authorized to provide to ECBVerdyol.

- perform other reasonable activities related to purposes disclosed when the information is collected.
We aim to limit our collection, use, and disclosure of personal information to appropriate and identified purposes.
Canadian privacy principles require organizations to identify purposes for collecting personal information and obtain meaningful consent where required.
8. Email and Marketing Communications
ECBVerdyol may send marketing or informational email communications where permitted by applicable law and where an appropriate basis exists.
These communications may include:
- newsletters;
- product information;
- company news;
- industry information;
- invitations;
- promotional announcements.
You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe mechanism provided in the communication or by contacting us.
Unsubscribing from marketing communications does not prevent ECBVerdyol from sending necessary non-promotional communications, such as responses to inquiries or communications related to an existing request, transaction, or submission.
9. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Our websites may use cookies and similar technologies for purposes including:
- website functionality;
- remembering preferences;
- security;
- traffic measurement;
- analytics;
- performance monitoring;
- improving user experience.
Some technologies may be provided by third-party service providers that help us operate, secure, or understand use of our websites.
Depending on your browser, device, location, and applicable law, you may have controls that allow you to block or delete cookies.
Disabling certain cookies may affect website functionality.
10. Analytics
ECBVerdyol may use analytics services, including services such as Google Analytics, to understand how visitors use our websites.
These services may process information such as:
- IP address;
- browser and device information;
- pages visited;
- referral information;
- general location information;
- website interactions and usage data.
We use analytics information to measure website performance, identify trends, and improve our websites and services.
Where applicable law requires consent or another choice for particular tracking technologies, we will provide appropriate controls.
11. How We Share Personal Information
ECBVerdyol may disclose personal information to service providers that perform functions on our behalf.
Depending on the service involved, these providers may assist with:
- website hosting;
- cloud storage;
- file storage;
- form processing;
- workflow automation;
- email delivery;
- analytics;
- cybersecurity;
- data management;
- customer or business systems;
- professional services.
We seek to limit service providers’ access to information to what is reasonably necessary for the services they provide.
We may also disclose information:
- when required or permitted by law;
- in response to a valid court order, subpoena, or legal process;
- to investigate fraud, abuse, or security incidents;
- to protect the rights, property, safety, or security of ECBVerdyol or others;
- in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, sale, or similar corporate transaction;
- at your direction or with your consent.
12. Sale or Sharing of Personal Information
ECBVerdyol does not sell personal information for monetary consideration.
Certain U.S. privacy laws may define terms such as “sale” or “sharing” more broadly, particularly in connection with advertising, analytics, or cross-context behavioral advertising technologies.
Where an applicable law provides a right to opt out of a practice that legally constitutes a sale, sharing, or targeted advertising, ECBVerdyol will honor applicable rights as required by law.
For example, where the California Consumer Privacy Act applies, consumers may have rights concerning access, deletion, correction, sale or sharing, and non-discrimination.
13. Cross-Border Processing
ECBVerdyol operates in Canada and conducts business with customers and other parties in Canada, the United States, and other locations.
Our service providers and information systems may process or store personal information in Canada, the United States, or other jurisdictions.
As a result, personal information may be subject to the laws of the jurisdiction in which it is processed or stored and may be accessible to courts, law enforcement agencies, regulators, or other authorities in accordance with applicable law.
ECBVerdyol remains responsible for personal information under its control and takes reasonable steps appropriate to the nature of the information and services involved when selecting and working with service providers.
Cross-border processing is particularly relevant here because some of the services used to operate a website or process submissions may store or process information outside Canada. Canadian privacy guidance emphasizes transparency and accountability regarding such processing.
14. Data Retention
ECBVerdyol retains personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected and for legitimate legal, operational, accounting, security, audit, or recordkeeping requirements.
Retention periods may depend on:
- the type of information;
- the purpose for which it was collected;
- legal requirements;
- business and accounting requirements;
- dispute or audit requirements;
- promotion administration;
- privacy and consent records;
- fraud prevention and security requirements.
When personal information is no longer reasonably required, we may delete, anonymize, or otherwise securely dispose of it in accordance with our practices and applicable requirements.
15. Information Security
ECBVerdyol uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.
These measures may include:
- access controls;
- authentication;
- restricted administrative access;
- secure hosting and storage;
- backups;
- monitoring;
- security software and other technical safeguards.
No Internet transmission or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
16. Your Privacy Choices and Rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights regarding your personal information.
These may include the right to:
- request access to personal information we maintain about you;
- request correction of inaccurate information;
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
- request deletion in circumstances provided by law;
- ask how personal information is used or disclosed;
- object to or restrict certain processing where applicable;
- opt out of certain marketing communications;
- exercise other rights provided by applicable privacy legislation.
These rights may be subject to legal exceptions and limitations.
ECBVerdyol may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests.
We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.
17. Canadian Privacy Rights
For individuals in Canada, ECBVerdyol aims to handle personal information consistently with applicable Canadian private-sector privacy requirements, including the principles established under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) where applicable and substantially similar provincial privacy legislation where applicable.
PIPEDA’s fair information principles include accountability, identifying purposes, consent, limiting collection, limiting use/disclosure/retention, accuracy, safeguards, openness, individual access, and challenging compliance.
Meaningful consent requires individuals to reasonably understand the nature, purpose, and consequences of the collection, use, or disclosure of their personal information. For collections, uses, or disclosures that are not necessary for the requested product or service, individuals should be provided with an appropriate choice.
Subject to applicable law, Canadian individuals may request access to or correction of their personal information and may withdraw consent to optional uses, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice.
18. United States Privacy Rights
Residents of certain U.S. states may have additional privacy rights where the relevant state privacy law applies to ECBVerdyol and the processing activity involved.
Depending on applicable law, these may include rights to:
- know or access personal information;
- request deletion;
- request correction;
- obtain information about categories of information collected and disclosed;
- opt out of certain sales or sharing;
- opt out of certain targeted advertising or profiling;
- limit certain uses of sensitive personal information;
- exercise privacy rights without unlawful discrimination.
For example, where the California Consumer Privacy Act applies, California consumers may have rights to know, delete, correct, opt out of sale or sharing, limit certain uses of sensitive personal information, and exercise their rights without discrimination.
Not every state privacy law applies to every business. ECBVerdyol will respond to privacy requests according to laws applicable to the particular individual and processing activity.
19. Children and Minors
ECBVerdyol’s websites and services are intended primarily for businesses, contractors, customers, and other adults and are not directed to children under 13.
We do not knowingly seek to collect personal information online directly from children under 13.
In the United States, COPPA imposes specific requirements on operators of websites or online services directed to children under 13 and operators with actual knowledge that they are collecting personal information online from a child under 13.
Canadian privacy guidance similarly states that, except in exceptional circumstances, individuals under 13 are generally considered unable to provide meaningful consent independently.
If a submitted project photograph contains a minor, the person submitting the photograph is responsible for obtaining any permission required from a parent or legal guardian.
If you believe personal information from a child has been submitted improperly, please contact us.
20. Third-Party Websites and Services
Our websites may contain links to third-party websites, social media platforms, or other services.
ECBVerdyol does not control and is not responsible for the privacy, security, content, or practices of independent third parties.
We encourage you to review the privacy practices of third-party services before providing personal information to them.
21. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services, technology, business practices, or applicable requirements.
When this Privacy Policy is updated, we will revise the Last Updated date at the top of this page.
If we make a material change involving a new use or disclosure of previously collected personal information and additional notice or consent is required, we will take appropriate steps before using the information for that new purpose.
Canadian guidance specifically identifies significant changes involving new purposes or disclosures to new third parties as circumstances in which consent practices should be reassessed.
